I recognize that each student is unique, so I don't subscribe to one size fits all prescriptions. Having said that, whether we focus on learning songs, improving strumming technique, or expanding the chord vocabulary, a rudimentary grasp of basic music theory is something from which every student, at any level, can benefit hugely. I strive to inject a bit of the “why” behind the “what,” without forgetting that fun is an essential part of our pursuit of guitar nirvana.
