New Arrival!!
1921 Gibson Style O!! An absolute stunning piece of art that has such a unique tone that it will send you back like a time machine to 100 years ago! It's in very good condition being professionally over-sprayed, who knows how many years ago. There is a crack on the top that had been already repaired. It plays great! It has been refretted and theres lots of frets left. The action is nice and low and plays great! The tuners are original but the tailpiece and bridge have been replaced. The bridge is a Fishman archtop top bridge pickup with the output jack mounted to the tailpiece. The case is original but its in pretty rough shape.
The Gibson Style O Artist is one of the most iconic and visually striking guitars of the early 20th century — a true relic of the mandolin orchestra era, when Gibson was redefining what a guitar could be.
This instrument features Gibson’s distinctive sculpted, scroll-shaped upper bout, giving it an instantly recognizable silhouette that echoes the company’s mandolin heritage. The carved spruce top and carved maple back and sides — more akin to violin construction than to flat-top guitars — lend it a uniquely focused, projecting voice, with a bright and articulate upper register balanced by a tight, woody low end.
Its oval soundhole and arched top and back create a tone that’s warm yet cutting, perfect for the parlor, early jazz ensemble, or solo performance. The mahogany neck joins the body at the 15th fret, offering an extended range compared to other guitars of the day, while the ebony fingerboard and pearl “The Gibson” headstock logo add an air of elegance.
Finished in a deep hand-rubbed sunburst, the 1921 Style O exudes vintage charm — its graceful lines, ornate headstock, and sculpted curves capturing the transitional spirit between the 19th-century parlor guitar and the modern archtop.
