It includes the original hardshell case thats in working condition with some stickers. This 1999 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Elegant is a striking blend of tradition and refinement, built during a golden era of Gibson’s Custom Shop craftsmanship. At first glance, its translucent red finish reveals a stunning carved maple top, the quilt grain beneath glowing like embers under glass. The bound body and fingerboard give it a regal presence, while the abalone inlays shimmer with a touch of modern flair—hence its “Elegant” moniker.
Sonically, it delivers everything one expects from a fine Les Paul: warmth, sustain, and punch, but with a slightly more refined voice. The chambered body construction, introduced with the Elegant series, adds an airy resonance and lightens the weight, making it a joy to play for hours on end. Its ‘59-style neck profile feels substantial without being cumbersome, inviting both chord work and soaring leads.
This model captures a rare moment where Gibson blended classic Les Paul DNA with Custom Shop artistry, producing a guitar as visually captivating as it is sonically inspiring. The 1999 red finish in particular radiates boldness—an instrument that refuses to be ignored, both on stage and in the hands of a collector.
